I grew up loving comic books (Marvel, Calvin & Hobbes, Garfield) and then my life changed after buying a secondhand copy of Stan Lee and John Buscema’s How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way for 25 cents at a book sale at my neighborhood Houston public library

I kept drawing through middle and high school (daily art class was a godsend of good vibe and true detachment from the academic grind) and also started geeking out about the history of art greats like Jacques Louis-David and Magritte

With college, that kind of faded away, and it wasn’t until getting an iPad/Apple Pencil in 2020 that drawing became accessible and fun again…
